Creative Confidence Workshops
Find the courage to create
Join Kate James and artist and designer Louise Weigall for a series of inspiring workshops to reconnect you with your natural creativity and build the confidence to express yourself more freely.
These practical, ‘no pressure’ sessions will help you quiet your inner critic, overcome perfectionism and self-doubt, and rediscover the joy of creating in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Whether you’re returning to a creative passion, trying a creative practice for the first time or just longing to bring more curiosity and play into your life, you’ll learn practical tools to move you beyond fear and trust your own ideas. Through guided reflections, thought-provoking conversations, simple creative exercises and experiential activities, you’ll discover that creativity is far more about courage than talent.
Each workshop is designed to nurture confidence rather than perfection, helping you enjoy the process of creating without the pressure to get it right.
No artistic experience is required – everyone is welcome.

"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul."
Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Louise Weigall is a fashion designer and producer by day, and an abstract artist by night, reconnecting with her first love from high school: art.
While she wears sophisticated neutrals for her day job, Louise paints in colour. For her, colour is like her favourite songs: harmonious, punchy, moving and strong. Playing with paint is her ultimate expression of joy and gratitude, making her feel alive and free.
Her tertiary qualifications in Textile Design, Visual Merchandising, and Colour & Design have given her a strong creative foundation, but she is still learning to be intuitive with her art. Abstract painting is helping her unlearn overthinking and perfectionism and find her own style.
A listener more than a talker, Louise genuinely cares about helping others discover their creative potential. She collects words and colours, both her own and other people’s, through journaling and photography. She also loves children’s books, where words and art come together to inspire, educate and remind big kids how to be wondrous again.
When she’s not working or getting lost in painting, Louise is hanging out with her sports-loving son, lifting weights to her favourite ’90s grunge playlist, or op shopping in her local neighbourhood.

Kate James is an author, coach and mindfulness teacher who has spent more than 24 years supporting women to build self-belief and create lives that feel more meaningful and true to who they are.
She believes we all need to live creatively, not necessarily by making art, but by finding ways to bring curiosity, imagination and a sense of play into everyday life.
Almost a decade ago, she moved to an acreage, where she has made space for her own creative passions. She grows her own vegetables, tends a perennial border alongside a native garden and a small orchard of peaches, nectarines, plums and cherries. She bakes chocolate brownies for her grandchildren, takes photographs and makes batches of preserves every year.
More recently, Kate has transformed a little shed in the garden into an art studio, where she has returned to her love of drawing and painting. After authoring six books, her writing has found a new home in the Life Stories Workshops she facilitates, while playing with her grandchildren has reminded her of the importance of embracing all the joys of creativity.
Kate loves creating spaces where people can reconnect with who they are at the deepest level and awaken their own creative instincts. Participants describe her as an authentic, warm and down-to-earth workshop leader.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be creative or artistic to attend?
Not at all. This series is designed for beginners and for anyone who has ever thought, “I’m just not creative.” You’ll be guided through each workshop in a supportive environment where curiosity matters far more than talent.
I'm worried I'll be the least creative person in the room
Many people feel this way before they join us (and in fact, it’s probably why you’re here). The workshops are designed to help you let go of perfectionism, quiet your inner critic and simply enjoy the process of creating. There is no judgement, comparison or expectation to produce a masterpiece.
Do I have to share my work?
Only if you would like to. Sharing is always optional. Many people enjoy hearing about each other’s experiences, but there is never any pressure to show or explain what you’ve created.
I'm not sure I'm creative enough
The truth is, you already are. Creative confidence isn’t about producing perfect work. It’s about giving yourself permission to explore, play, learn and enjoy the process.
What kind of workshops are on offer?
This is a new series so it’s still evolving but as well as the online workshops, the in-person sessions will include a variety of creative experiences, such as drawing, watercolour, ceramics, journalling and other hands-on workshops led by guest artists and facilitators. Each session offers an opportunity to explore a different medium while building your creative confidence.
Do I need any creative experience?
Not at all. This course is suitable for everyone. The focus is not on the quality of the output – it is simply about immersing you in the joy of creativity.
What equipment do I need?
You will need:
A computer, tablet, or smartphone with a working camera and microphone for Zoom sessions.
A reliable internet connection to join live sessions and access course materials.
An email address for all workshops, as course materials will be emailed.
A journal or sketchbook (it doesn’t need to be anything fancy), your favourite writing pen or pencil and a couple of lead pencils for quick drawing (HB and 2B ideally).
Why creativity?
Research shows that engaging in creative activities can reduce stress, improve wellbeing, increase cognitive flexibility and foster a greater sense of purpose and joy. More importantly, creativity reminds us that we don’t have to be perfect to experience fulfilment.
What is your refund policy?
If you withdraw from the program within 7 days of commencing, we’ll happily offer a full refund.
